Love moves the heart

Love is that movement in your heart that inspires you to do something good and beautiful for a person you care about. The heart is always moving toward something. It can be like a wild animal that needs to be tamed and trained or it can be like a good child who runs around in perfect bliss. We must constantly keep our heart in check by guarding it against the twisted emotions or desires that could lead it in the wrong direction. There’s a lot that goes on in the heart, there’s a lot of movement there, all the time. When I speak of the action or movement of the heart I am referring to the will or the desires of the heart which include the emotions or passions that like to run around in there; but more importantly, I am also referring to the profound movement of something divine in our heart. There is something sacred in our heart that we must not ignore. The movement, or movements, of the heart will either make us or break us so it’s important to keep our heart moving in the direction of healthy love. Love must be the strongest movement and most dominant action in our heart.

Love is a choice

When you love someone, you choose that person day after day. Love is a daily choice. Everyone has the God-given ability to choose. It’s called free-will. We can choose good things (that show great love) or we can choose negative things (that do not show love). Love begins with a choice. We must make a decision. We can choose virtue, we can choose emotion, we can choose the actions we wish to take, we can choose sacrifice (selflessness), we can choose to communicate, we can choose the desires we wish to experience, or not. Love wasn’t meant to be complicated, but some people tend to complicate it. It comes down to choice. To love or not to love is a decision that we must make daily. We can choose to be respectful, honest, generous, vulnerable, faithful and courageous, or we could choose not to be those things. We can choose to give love, or not to give it. Ultimately, love is our choice to make. No one can make this choice for us. We have the capacity to make decisions that will show great love to others. We should always remember this. Who needs love in your life? Will you bring love to that person today? How will you show it?
